Antoine called 911 and told them, “My girlfriend just got out of a car and somebody just came and kidnapped her and left. I just watched her get kidnapped from in front of my house!”  Antoine added that he watched the incident unfold from a window as a man wearing a security shirt held a gun at Abdulrab. The incident happened around 5 am, and a few hours later, Abdulrab’s body was found lying face down with gunshot wounds on Lakewood Avenue.

DeMarcus Brinkley, 27, was arrested the same morning in Griffin as a suspect in Abdulrab’s murder. He was apprehended after crashing into another vehicle when officers attempted to stop his SUV. He was charged with murder, aggravated assault, false imprisonment, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
