Video Shows L.A. Man Firing Back at Would-Be Robbers, Wounding Both

The LAPD released surveillance footage of a man firing at two would-be robbers pulling up on him on Melrose Avenue around 7 pm on Monday (July 19).

The video shows a car pulling up on a man talking to two women, and two men exit the vehicle. Moments later, the men appear to exchange words before guns were drawn and shots were fired. A short time later, 22-year-old Nicholas Brown and 28-year-old Markeil Hayes were taken into custody and were found to have sustained non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

The two men were on parole at the time they were arrested, and they were booked on suspicion of attempted robbery. The driver of the car has yet to be arrested.
