Toddler Fatally Shoots Mother During Work-Related Zoom Call

According to reports, a 21-year-old mother was fatally wounded after her toddler shot her with an unsecured firearm found inside the home. The gun went off and struck the woman while she was on a work-related Zoom call.

“Investigators determined that the injury was caused by a toddler who found a loaded handgun, which was left unsecured by an adult in the apartment,” Altamonte Springs police said in a statement.

Authorities have determined that the gun used belonged to the father of the victim’s two children. Police say neither one of the children was injured during the shooting.
