South Carolina Mall Shooting Reportedly Leaves at Least 12 Injured & 10 Shot

According to reports, two people were injured, and ten people were shot at a shopping mall in Columbia, South Carolina, in an incident that police do not think was a random attack.

ABC News noted the incident went down on April 16, with reports also noted three people were detained in connection to the shooting. “We don’t believe this was random. We believe they knew each other and something led to the gunfire,” said Columbia Police Chief W.H. Holbrook.

A witness on the scene named Daniel Johnson gave his account of the shooting, saying, “Everybody was trying to get outside. When I was coming out, you could see baby strollers turned over, people’s phones, and left keys. It was kind of a hectic situation.” According to Holbrook, eight victims were taken to the hospital for further care. Two people were in critical condition, and six other people were in stable condition. Stay tuned for more updates.
