Principal Resigns After Students Reenact George Floyd Murder on Social Media

According to reports, a Colorado high school principal has resigned after a photo surfaced of students from her school reenacting the George Floyd murder.

Mead High principal Rachael Ayers formally resigned on Monday in a letter to students, parents, and faculty. Ayers had worked at Mead High School for 12 years as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal.

Ayers’s resignation comes roughly three weeks after a photo surfaced of students reenacting the George Floyd murder. The photo shows one student kneeling on another who appeared to be dawning blackface.
