Police Arrest Gunman Who Shot a Cop on a College Campus in Virginia

This just in, there was an active shooting on the campus of Bridgewater College in Bridgewater, Virginia. In response to the incident, deputies from the Rockingham County Sheriff’s office and the Harrisonburg Police Department showed up to investigate. According to reports, at least one officer was shot in an attempt to apprehend the shooter. But nevertheless, the effort was successful.

When news of the on-campus shooting reached the Governor of Virginia, he released a statement on Twitter.

“I have been briefed on the situation at Bridgewater College. The shooter is in custody and state and local police are on the scene. I will continue to monitor the situation in conjunction with law enforcement,” said Governor Glenn Youngkin.

In wake of numerous threats that college campuses have received at the beginning of Black History Month, it is being reported that the FBI will also send agents to investigate the scene of the crime.
