Over 69 Pounds of Cocaine Found & Seized by Authorities On a Cruise Ship

Previously, it was reported that $1.2 million worth of cocaine washed up on shore at the Cape Canaveral Space Force Base. It was noted the amount totaled up to almost 30 kilograms of cocaine. Now, over 69 pounds of cocaine were found and seized on a cruise ship in Florida.

The bust was made by the Customs and Border Protection, who found over 69 pounds of cocaine that were in garbage bags on a cruise ship. The ship’s security team reportedly made the discovery, with the bricks of coke being found in the cargo area of the ship.

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime estimated how much the 69 pounds of cocaine comes out to, saying it could be worth up to $5 million on the street. CBP’s port director of field operations spoke on the matter, saying, “his seizure is indicative of the excellent collaboration CBP has with our industry partners to detect and interdict illegal drugs being smuggled into our nation.” It was noted that the cruise ship is operated by Royal Caribbean Cruises, but no arrests have been made in connection to the discovery yet. Stay tuned for more updates.
