NBA Reportedly Preparing for Stoppage Ahead of Derek Chauvin Verdict

Recently, the trial for disgraced former cop Derek Chauvin has been taking place, and Chauvin is facing second and third-degree murder charges, as well as second-degree manslaughter. The verdict’s impact will have an effect on the country no matter which way it goes, and the NBA has noted they are preparing for the possible stoppage ahead of the trial’s end.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the league has sent memos to teams informing them of possible protests among players as well as postponed games in the upcoming week. In the last week, the Brooklyn Nets and Minnesota Timberwolves postponed games last week due to the shooting of an unarmed Black man named Daunte Wright, who was killed by police during a traffic stop in Minnesota.
