Murder suspects allegedly had sex in victim’s bed while she died

An Oklahoma couple beat a woman with a crowbar, then had sex in her bed in the next room while she died, according to police.

Brinlee Denison, 25, and Nicholas Johnson, 28, have been charged with the murder of 29-year-old Sarah Maguire in her Tulsa home on Jan. 4.

In an interview after his arrest, Johnson told police that he and Denison were in an “intimate relationship,” but that Denison “was also in a relationship” with Maguire and that he had grown “jealous,” according to an affidavit obtained by KNWA Friday.

The pair allegedly plotted the murder and showed up to Maguire’s house, where they beat her and stole her car, electronics and credit cards.

Johnson “could still hear the victim in the living room struggling to live, while he was having sex with Denison in the bedroom,” he told police, according to the affidavit.

Leaving Maguire to die, the couple allegedly drove across state lines to Fayetteville, Ark., in her car, tossing their bloody clothes out the window as they fled. They also allegedly transferred money from Maguire’s bank accounts to their own.

Johnson and Denison were caught in Fayetteville a day later, sleeping in the stolen car outside a Whataburger, and confessed to everything, according to KNWA.

“Our family has suffered a devastating blow this week. My sister Sarah has lost her life in a senseless act of violence,” Jamie Maguire wrote on Facebook. Please keep our family in your prayers as we navigate through this time. Rest assured justice is being served and we owe our greatest debt of gratitude to the Tulsa Police Department.”
