The Mexican national guard and army seized up to 1,196 pounds of the synthetic opioid from a warehouse in Culiacån, where the Sinaloa cartel allegedly operates. Assistant Public Safety Secretary Ricardo Mejia said, “This is the largest seizure in the history of this lethal drug.” The estimated street value for the drugs seized amounted to roughly $230 million.

Ten suspects were arrested in the seizure, and over 1,200 pounds of meth, 68 pounds of cocaine, and opium and heroin were seized.
