Live Nation to Require Proof of Vaccine or Negative COVID Test at Music Events

In recent news, it appears the COVID-19 pandemic is making another wave with the Delta variant. Despite the rise in cases, there isn’t a lockdown in sight, which companies have been using as a green light to move forward with large events. With festivals like Lollapalooza taking place, officials were worried about the spreading of COVID, which pushed the festival to require attendees to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test. Now, Live Nation has revealed they will follow suit for all their music events.

Live Nation President and CEO Michael Rapino issued a statement saying, “Vaccines are going to be your ticket back to shows, and as of October 4th, we will be following the model we developed for Lollapalooza and requiring this for artists, fans, and employees at Live Nation venues and festivals everywhere possible in the US.”

It was noted that all artists and crew members would have to show proof of vaccination or a negative test as well. Live Nation previously noted the decision to enforce the mandate would be up to the artist. Along with that, the company noted all Live Nation employees must be vaccinated by October 4, 2021, in order to be allowed at any venues, events, or the company’s offices.
