The announcement was made on Thursday, and laced pills have an alleged street value of about $20 million. The drugs are allegedly associated with a drug trafficking ring tied to the Sinaloa Cartel. DEA Special Agent-In-Charge Bill Bodner spoke on the matter, saying, “This massive seizure disrupted the flow of dangerous amounts of fentanyl into our streets and probably saved many lives.”

According to the DEA, their offices seized over 3 million fentanyl pills in 2021, three times as many drugs seized from the previous year.
