Recently, the Colorado Rockies faced off against the Miami Marlins, and Marlins outfielder Lewis Brinson found himself up to bat during the game. While waiting for the pitcher to throw, the televised broadcast captured a fan in the crowd screaming out the n-word multiple times to Brinson.
The incident happened during the 9th inning, and the Colorado Rockies issued a statement after the game was over. The team went on to say, “The Colorado Rockies are disgusted at the racial slur by a fan directed at the Marlins’ Lewis Brinson during the ninth inning of today’s game. Although the subject was not identified prior to the end of the game, the Rockies are still investigating this incident.”
They continued by saying, “The Rockies have zero tolerance for any form of racism or discrimination, and any fan using derogatory language of any kind will be ejected and banned from Coors Field.” According to TMZ, the MLB app is not letting fans rewatch the game at this time.
