The doorbell camera footage was obtained by TMZ, which shows Brooks telling the homeowner, Daniel Rider, that he had called an Uber to his address and it hadn’t shown up yet. Brooks then asked Rider to use his phone, which he agreed to, and he also let Brooks come into his house for a sandwich and to warm up.
Rider spoke to NBC News about Brooks being in his home, and he revealed that he asked Brooks to leave after getting a bad feeling. Brooks then stood out on Rider’s porch, which is when police instructed him to put his hands up before arresting him.
Brooks has been charged with 5 counts of intentional homicide, and more charges are expected to follow amid the investigation.
