The Hancock County Sheriff’s Department said deputies with the Pro-Active Criminal Enforcement (PACE) Team made the discovery after pulling the van over for a routine traffic violation. Upon pulling over the vehicle, deputies said they observed multiple “criminal indicators” during contact with the driver and passenger.
Authorities also noted the smell of marijuana emanating from the van. Upon searching the vehicle, deputies uncovered vacuum-sealed bricks of marijuana in 16 cardboard boxes weighing a total of 400 lbs.
The two men, Chas Brown, and Howard Stevens were arrested and booked on a preliminary charge of dealing marijuana.
